I don't know how similar it is, or if anything similar would work on the PT-6, but the newer Miraphone 188's have a first valve trigger of very impressive comstruction. To me it is set up a lot like you would have a 6th valve (uses valve linkage type parts) on the left side of the horn (if you are playing) except that it moves the first valve slide in and out. To prevent the slide from pulling all the way out, it has slide stoppers like they have on Bach trumpets to regulate how much the slide can be pulled. I don't have a pic and I haven't spent enough time with one to create a diagram, but if you can find a newer Miraphone 188 to look at, I think it might give you a nice idea of how something similar could work with a PT-6.
