If you are on the east coast try to get to Dillon's Music in Woodbridge NJ, or Baltimore Brassworks in Baltimore (obviously!), The Tuba Exchange in Chapel Hill NC (?). If you are in the mid west try the Woodwind and Brasswind in Indiana(?) or Custom Music (where is that exactly, Chicago? I don't know). Down South there is Memphis Music (not too far south) and in TX there is Brook Mays Music Check out the web sites for the above mentioned stores. Just do a search and they are bound to turn up.
If you are out on the west coast I can't help you sorry.
Check out Ebay for used stuff but buyer beware there. Make sure you know what you are getting. And be sure you are able to have a trial period, with a return option.
There are surely others. check out the dealers portion of this site.
The stores listed above all have knowledgeable tuba consultants to guide your through your purchase. Your avarage local music store probably will not.ken k
