I bought a hard case.
The expert who looked at my 191 said the bridge for the valve keys was exposed enough to really be a problem in a gig bag. And if I recall correctly he was also worried about the bell.
I got the Miraphone hard case, and it was on the expensive side, but there are other very good cases that cost less.
BTW, I like so many others, think the 191 is the best BBb tuba I have ever played.
