I'm not so sure that this is true. I can play almost as low on my euph than on my tuba (I can hit a double pedal C on my euph and the Bb or A right below that on my tuba) and my euph mouthpiece is (of course) considerably smaller than my tuba mouthpiece. Then again, I wonder how much of that has to do with resistance?
