OK Joe, you've made your point. Now how would you propose to differentiate between an English Baritone, which is a small, cylindrical bore, Bb horn, and a larger, conical bore Bb horn? I sat next to a guy at TubaChristmas in Bear Mountain, NY yesterday who was playing an old Boosey & Hawkes "baritone," NOT a euphonium. It definitely has a different sound from the King DB euphonium that I was playing. (OK, double bell instruments are exceptions because they are really two instruments)

Not one of the instruments that you described in your posting are baritones, just because people, especially in this country, like to call them such. I agree with the post above, a baritone is to a euphonium what a trumpet is to a cornet. Ignore the bell front, bell up, top action, front action, etc. configuration issues.
