Welcome to the USA. Where everything is inches, pounds, gallons and miles. A few years back, I was surprised to find out that the rocket and missle engineers still measured mass in slugs. Where we still talk about a high fever of 104.
You know, if Brunei ever goes metric, the US will be the sole surviving user of the Customary (NIST's term for it) system. Though I read that there's a backlash in the UK against the EU requirement that groceries be priced in metric quantities.
