I'm in high school too and I'm playing that piece. My private lessons teacher suggested I go out and get a copy of a violinist playing it so that I would know the tempo and the style in which to play it. I've listened to the recording with the metronome handy, and It approximatly 74 bpm. Quite a bit slower than I thought at first. That's about the speed I'll probably take it. Not a show offy "look how fast I can play this" speed, but at a nice tempo where I can play in well and musicly. The tempo I'm not sure about is the Air. In the TUBACHRISTMAS arrangement of "Komm, Susser Tod" #20 it says Andante, and on my piece it says Andante Expressivo, so I'm thinking maybe it should be a little slower than 70 maybe? Anyone have an opinion on this? Hope that helped.

Richard
