THE SYMPHONIA TUBA-EUPHONIUM WORKSHOP AT BREVARD
JUNE 29-JULY 1, 2001

We are pleased to announce THE SYMPHONIA TUBA-EUPHONIUM WORKSHOP, scheduled for June 29- July 1, 2001 at the beautiful Brevard Music Center in Brevard, North Carolina. Tbhis one of a kind workshop will be an intensive three ays of inspiring performances, clinics, and masterclasses covering every major facet of tuba and euphonium performance including: solo, orchestral, wind band, jazz, and chamber playing. All sessions will be taught by members of SYMPHONIA, world class artists dedicated to the advancement of the euphonium and tuba. A LIFE CHANGING WORKSHOP FOR ALL TUBISTS AND EUPHONIUMISTS! This workshop is open to all tuba and euphonium players from high school age on up to professionals!

SYMPHONIA, the super sonic ensemble in the alternate clef, has been acclaimed for their breathtaking performances and recordings. As the world's foremost low brass ensemble, SYMPHONIA consists of legendary artists inevery chair. Both of the ensemble's recordings on Mark Records have met with critical acclaim, showing the group's amazing versatility in new works for the tuba and euphonium, effective transcriptions, and even jazz. SYMPHONIA has appeared at such prestigious venues as the International Tuba-Euphonium Conference (four times); the Midwest Band & Orchestra Clinic; the Great American Brass Band Festival; and the U.S. Army Band Tuba-Euphonium Conference.



THE COURSE: Each day of the workshop will begin with group warm up and daily routines, followed by sessions on solo, orchestral, wind band performance and other topics. Each workshop participant will be expected to perform on masterclasses and/or clinics during the workshop. These will be scheduled at registration. Each participant will also be assigned to an ensemble which will perform on the workshop. SYMPHONIA will present two performances during the workshop, and faculty will also present a recital of solo works. Each day will be full of new ideas and inspiring sessions. The SYMPHONIA TUBA-EUPHONIUM WORKSHOP AT BREVARD is designed to be an invigorating experience for those who love low brass music performance!

THE BREVARD MUSIC CENTER: Nestled in the Beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, the Brevard Music Center has for over 60 years been a special place for musicians.
Tuba and euphonium students attending the brevard music Center this summer will receive free admittance to the workshop. Workshop participants will able to attend some of the Music Center's regular performances.

Note: All workshop participants UNDER THE AGE OF 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during off hours of the workshop.
