If the location is in a theatre, decorate your horn with wings, a white "robe" and a halo. Then fly it in on the counterweight batten using 2 one-eighth-inch aircraft cables.

Buy 25 strands of lights, and COMPLETELY wrap each tube of the horn in them. A 50 foot lawn extension cord should provide ample wattage and reach. I'd hesitate to dump your spit valve, though. I wonder if the brass would make an effective electromagnet? Talk about an attractive horn.

If you have a souzy or a bell front horn, make a Grinch bell cover.

Put antlers on either side of the bell, and a bright red beacon on the front of the bell.

Find a sleigh, harness the freshmen to it and have them pull all of the uperclassmen out on stage. While playing, of course.

Have a Carribean Christmas. You could decorate up a fake palm tree, everyone could wear Hawaiian shirts. Keep some blenders full of Margaritas for the audience. They'll clap louder.

BTW, does anyone else find that 100+ tubas playing Silent Night is somewhat of an oxymoron?

Happy Holidays!
Steve
