No comments about the player were implyed nor intended. It is just that mouthpieces that more resemble Schilke 51D's (due to extra deep cup and medium large throat) offer richer tone qualities in even utility-quality school "bell front" baritones, and mouthpieces that are more like Bach 6 1/2 AL -types can even make a Willson euphonium sound somewhat "tinny" in the high range...

...strickly an "equipment" question.
