Don't buy an Amati! I had to play a brand new one at school for a while, and it played really badly. They dent EXTREMELY easily, and they're just not built well in general. Odds are that you'll end up spending money on repairs that you could've spent on a quality used horn. You might check out some of the old bell-forward recording tubas. Even the really old ones just keep going, and going....
