How was my comment not useful? Unlike you I have sat down and played on the tuba, the full range, used different articulations, played some excerpts, etc. My point I was trying to get across is as follows
St. Pete= lack luster horn (Is that better?)
St Pete= c $3000
Conclusion: for $3000 you can get a decent used tuba of better quality than the St. Pete.
I'm not telling anyone to NOT buy it. Hell, I know someone who was totally enamoured by the St. Pete and more power to him. I was giving my assessment of it from having played it and a wide range of other tubas. People give their opinions on topics everyday. We are all entitled. I never thought this would get carried away like this. Everyone needs to fixate themselves on something a little less trivial and have a nice holiday. Ho ho ho!!! :)
