Well.....I sold a 20J to another BBS reader about 2 years ago,
a perfect perfect bell, decent body with good play-able valves,
and both hard cases. I think I sold it for 1300 (talked down in price
somewhat) The buyer kinda groused about the condition of the horn
when he received it, but I really don't think that came from anything
more than a natural "horse-trader" approach to buying and selling.
2200 is prolly high...I could see that price for a MINT ONE IN 4 VALVES.

I think Bob Pucci's advice probably has the most merit and "expert" status,
he trades in lots of old horns and has a wealth of experience and balanced
perspectives on the REAL "value" of vintage brass.

Also....give David Fedderly a call if you'd consider horns other than a 20J,
I am a little curious about the old nickel-plated BBflat Ziess tuba he has right now,
it looks a lot different from my old Cerveny-built Ziess, is it maybe an Alexander-built one? Price might be negotiable a bit too....
