Steve and Sean are right on the money! In my experience most of the people who have trouble getting it done in four years are Music Ed majors. Ed majors usually have to take a few more hours because they have music department guidelines as well as Education department guidelines to meet. Also, Ed majors have a semester when they student teach. A lot of schools do not allow student teachers to take any other classes so that they can focus on the task at hand. That means that every hour that you can squeeze in every other semester is at a premium. Do not be discouraged though. Follow Steve and Sean's advice and you will be fine. Know that every major has different issues to deal with and that the things that make majoring in music frustrating at times will also make you a better player, and person over the long run.

Best Wishes!
Mike
