Hi,

When I first tried my 2165 out at Dillon Music I had the same problem. I was forcing the low range to happen which I was used to doing with my smaller 4/4 I had before it. I have since adjusted and realized that the low range on the 2165 needs to be placed effortless. If you feel you are working to get out a low f,e,d etc then you are definately working to hard at it. Relax and slow the air down. I've found 6/4 tubas respond better when they are played "delicately." The horns seem to do all of the "work" for you. Good luck...oh and...Meinl Westons are known for being stuffy. Or so I've heard. :)
