words to live by!
On that, note, I have a YCB861, like it a lot. Plays well, free blowing, well tuned. great rotors. Nice horn.
Heard good things about the YCB822, friend played one, a new one for four months. I've tried it too. Better funnel than a tuba. Pretty engraving on the bell but... Slow, gritty valves ( despite cleaning casing and piston & regular oil), bizarre tuning ( read: flat 23 (Ithink) #5 slide as opposed to flat 1) The Motorcycle boys must have built that one. See if you can demo a horn (for more than a 1/2 hr.) before you buy.
Like mine a lot, hated his.
Don't rule a Yamaha out, try them first.
Good luck!

Something to think about.... new yamaha, good horn but expensive, used, oh say, hirsbrunner, Rudy Meinl, prob available for same or maybe less $. Look carefully!
