The real question is, "does anybody make good large BBb tubas any more?"

The St Pete vs. 25J comparison simply isn't a comparison -- they're two completely different concepts. The St. Pete is about 4/4 size or smaller (7/8?) with a monstrous bore, and the 25J, although with a "normal" bore, is its own county seat.

There is a large Rudy BBb, but I can't say about price, and I haven't played one.

Other than that, I'm stumped. Everybody seems to believe that a big tuba is only worthwhile in CC and that a good one can only be made in CC. I'd like to see an established manufacturer take what they learned about refining & producing top-notch modern 6/4 CC's and apply those principles to producing a top-notch modern 6/4 BBb. Anybody else up for a BBb Yorkbrunner or PT-7?

Seeya,
Leland
