Nobody's trying to get you to buy a CC, except maybe your own personal tuba teacher. I'm willing to bet that there are some very talented BBb players out there, who can play the pants off of me (on CC or Eb). Seems to me that there's a lot of anxiety about the kind of money one needs to spend to get into the tuba competition game. Noone should rush in uninformed but then again, everyone has only so much time to try to make the best of their own tuba career. The main thing is to LIKE WHAT YOUR DOING. If you're going broke - so what? . . . who hasn't. Everyone I known who's declared bankruptcy, ended up getting credit handed to them again - in no time! I'm not suggesting that anybody try that route, I'm just saying that one has to take some chances in life and most of all, have a good time by rolling with the punches. Remember, nobody is forcing any of us to play the tuba. What's the point if we can't get some satisfaction out of doing it? Just fuel for thought.
