As far as CC tubas go:
I assume you're looking at 4/4 horns since you mentioned the 186-5U. I would recommend you don't buy anything till you try the 4/4 Nirschl, the PT-4 and 4p, the MW 2145 and 2155, the Rudy Meinl 4/4, and the HB-2p and HB-21.
