At least in comparison to the older 4/4 Hirsbrunners, they feel very stuffy. I don't know too much about the numbers in tuba making, but like most people my age (senior undergrad) I've played many, many tubas recently, especially hirsbrunners. The HB-2ps really let you blow freely and don't give too much resistance. This becomes more and more true as you learn to breath and blow more efficiently. check it out. Hirsbrunner is more consistent these days with its products, but every horn is different regardless.
The more open feel also makes the horn respond more consistently throughout the registers.

If you are looking for a particular model of horn, make sure you try a few to find the best one. This is especially important with Hirsys an B&Ss.

I just haven't found any 21s that feel like the 2s or 2Ps.
