I use two mouthpieces: a Dillon H3 on my Rudy Meinl 5/4 CC; and a Mirafone C3 on my B & S Perantucci Model F. I went through a long and arduous phase where I was always playing different mouthpieces. After awhile, the constant experimentation "confuses" your chops, so I finally settled on a mouthpiece that works very well on my CC and one that works okay on my F. I too have a large collection of old mouthpieces (including some real freaks!). They serve as a reminder that the chops need some sort of consistent situation. Using different mouthpieces on your various horns is not a problem, but using more than two or three may cause difficulties in adjusting.

I don't feel the need to change mouthpieces in the midst of a piece of music. Any change in sound necessary within a work can be done with sound concept. Bydlo might be the exception,if you play it on CC.
