I bought my PT-10 two years ago. The horn, used, came with three different leadpipes and a few alterations (ring on the side of the first valve slide and a stop to keep from pulling the slide out). The only modification I have made is to take the center brace off of the leadpipe and bell. It could also be that I have put in the required number of hours to learn to play the PT-10, but I feel like taking off the brace made the low register easier to play. If you do not play F tuba everyday, the Yamaha is a much easier horn to play. However, if you are willing to put the time into your sound, the B&S is a very versitile tuba.
