It is I who am insulted. The above post was AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL and not intended to be taken otherwise. It is because I have a family and other responsibities that I cannot pursue the 20K orchestra job that I would have killed for a decade or two ago or an even an entry level teaching position. It was intended to serve as a wake up call to those considering Grad school who might instead think that getting a straight job is better in the long run. I thought the same thing MANY years ago and now regret it. I am entitled to my opinion, and posted anonymously because I knew it would be misconstrued by someone out there. Forgive me for waxing philosophical.
