I aggree with MP on this one.
Switching instruments just to 're-learn' a new fingering chart, is not my idea of advancement. In my view, Advancement is about the music that you play and how you play it, not neccessarily what key tuba you play it in...bottom line. It does not matter if you play it with a CC or BBb horn, to your audience, they will both sound exactly the same....they WILL hear your technique...as well as mistakes :-)
AS for transposing, you don't really need a tuba for that anyway. Am I right? I mean that's just more 'grunt work' than anything. But, whatever makes you happy. Everybody has their own thing with music.
