Doug, would you describe what an upstream player would have to do to get the ranges?
Do upstream and downstream players have problems with different ranges? How can you tell if you're one and should be the other, or in between?
I ask, because tuba has been so easy for me to learn, and horn has been so difficult, and you'd think that the concepts would be reasonably the same. On tuba, a middle C is effortless for me (as it is on horn) but middle C is sort of high on tuba while it is not on horn. On horn, I strain like crazy to go above G on top of the staff (concert C) and wonder if I changed my airstream direction via a change in mpc placement, if I might clear this up.
