Is there anyone at a big box retailer that could tell a good tuba from a bad one?
I'm somewhat of an expert on bicycles, and the bicycles I see at the big box retailers, which parents buy for their kids all the time, are many times incapable of working at all, let alone doing so for long. The frequent offer of "free assembly" is often stated as the motivation, but is incompetent assembly really free? What's the point of a cheap instrument in a box store having a warranty if it can't play the open tones reasonably in tune?
