Dave,

I don't find that age (unlike automobiles) has anything to do with the value of musical instruments.

In instrument (like a Willson 2900) is what it is. The model hasn't really changed since the '80's. The value would solely be based on it's physical and cosmetic condition in comparison to "new" condition.

To throw some numbers around, to interest a buyer in a used instrument (as opposed to "new with warranty"...and with possible available financing from a dealer) one might assume that at least $1000 needs to be knocked off a "competitive new" price.

OK, that takes us down to $3500-$3700. From there, the cosmetic and physical condition of the instrument will dictate further discounts.

I've rarely seen a decent Willson sell for less than $2500, and quite a few sell for just under $3500, if they are quite nice.
