I agree entirely...
It's like guys saying in the earlier thread that rehearsing is not practice. Amen to that. It does of course offer invaluable time on-the-face which is of huge benefit for the student. Folks who play only for fun often keep their chops to a pretty high standard just on say two rehearsals a week where they undoubtedly blow their faces off : )
