Here in the vast dust bowl that is West Texas, our little 230 piece marching band is doing Carlos Chavez' Sinfonia India, with a tango by Astor Piazzola thrown in the middle.
Last year we performed a relatively new work on the field by a New York composer named Richard Danielpour. His Celestial Night is a wonderful piece and worked very well on the field. BTW, Santa Clara marched one of his pieces in their show this year.
