Well, When I was in 9th grade I was on a 24aw, when I went to regions I made 1st band 1st chair by 20 pts.
my 10th grade yr, I had some private lessons and was advised about a helleberg, so I got one. I've played onn it since then. At regions in 10th grade I got 2nd band something.. Although, I froze in the tryout rooms from nerves. I really don't think the different moutpiece has anything to do with it. But it may of... in 9th grade I got near perfect tones and i can't remember what i got in 10th grade.
Monday i'll borrow one of the 24aws and bring it home and play through some of my all region peices on both.
isn't helleberg suppost to be a better mouthpiece? I play a cbb 681 cerveny, and a conn 20k sousa...
