I've been wondering about that goofy third valve tubing; now I get it. I fixed one up last year, (just made it playable) and sold it. Now I have another to work on. I am tempted to re-route the 3rd valve tubing to eliminate the tight bends.
They play ok, intonation is decent, size & weight are appropriate for young players, and they generally are inexpensive.
