When I stand with my tuba, My left hand is lower on the tuba then my right hand (hand I play with) and i can play just fine.. and if i ened to i can lay my left arm over my tuba and hold music and prop the tuba up on my knee and play hehe :)
but as for euphonium, do you play with ure left or right hand? I believe i have seen both kinds... if u play with you right.. you coudl try and play how i do on my sousa.. put your left hand in your pocket.. that'll lower your shoulder maybe ? heh Im not sure why i end up wiht my hand in the pocket, maybe its the boredom of playing quarter notes;)
