We have the same trickery here. People who would prefer to work are discriminated against by the government because of their age, and tricked into not working because of the enticement of a handout. Thus, quite a few people probably die sooner than they otherwise would due to inactivity and depression.
At the same time, the money for these handouts is taken from the paychecks of struggling young families who are trying to house and feed their babies. Thus, many young productive families are forced to ask for government handouts, too. So goes the tyrannical cycle of socialism.
