I agree. There does not seem to be any respect for recent-but-invisible repairs on the auction sites. People who shop there are shopping for looks or price, and either go on looks alone or want to do the repairs themselves so they can get it even cheaper. Therefore, repairs that make the instrument look much better (compared to the cost of the repairs) will get much more result than repairs that make it work better.
