I never *really* buzzed until within the past year and a half or so. I never had any reason before then to even do it, I didn't know what it's purpose was. It goes hand in hand with the statement "You will only play as well as you hear", and "you must hear the note before you play it". If you buzz a song and buzz the right pitches, chances are, you'll play the piece 100% better because you will be able to hear the notes before they actually are played. Hope that helped.
