I read and re-read earlier archived posts on the 1290 and 1295. Matt Walters' post about some valve mods making all the difference was among the more interesting posts.

First question--anyone have updated opinions on the 1295 Mirafone produced to "fix" the intonation and stuffiness of its cousin, the 1290? Playing impressions, comparison to Rudy's, Meinl's 2155, 822, etc.? What I'm hoping for is fresh perspective from owners, play-testers, etc.
Second, What about holding position, ease of playing, and overall sound "out in the hall?"

I'm horn hunting, and have always liked Miras, and I favor piston valve horns.
