As others have suggested, simply removing the G-50 bell in favor of an original York bell might not be worth it. I believe that for the amount of work involved in doing this that the benefit will be almost non-existant from a sound and weight standpoint. If you MUST have a lighter horn, I would actually seek out a carbon fiber bell before I would have a York bell put on.
Just my opinion
