I had been using both for a long time, and I have "full sensuous" lips acording to my wife. The standard Helleberg has a sharper rim than the 7B. The 7B is also somewhat smaller. I used the Standard for large groups as I believe it gave me a fuller dark tone. I used the 7B for small ensembles as I believe it gave me a lighter sound. I am now using Mike Finn mouthpieces and comfort is one of several reasons I switched.The MF3 is a modified funnel (Helleberg) shape and really opens up the low register.
