I've been playing on a PT36 for about 3 years now. I love the sound and range I have with it, but it killed my lips yesterday. Here's the thing-- I was trying out a new mouthpiece last Thursday, and I would practice on it for a minimum of 2 hours a day for 4 days and it wouldn't hurt (too much) but I decided against it and I resumed on my PT. I then resumed practice on my PT yesterday and today my lips were sooooo swollen. Was the swelling due to changing mouthpieces or the PT itself and lack of comfort? If it's due to lack of comfort, does anyone know of a mouthpiece with the same characteristics as said mp but just more comfortable or am I just gonna have to suck it up? Or if better mp's are available that are comfortable, please don't hold out. :) I really appreciate it! Oh! Any good fundamental books for CC tuba?
