Unless that grease is some synthetic deal (likely not), a drop or two of rotary valve oil (or a thin piston oil like Al Cass) on the greased slide will speed-up the slide action considerably. The oil mixes itself with the grease right away.
Doesn't get the mileage that the synthetic brews do, but it may be just what you're looking for, and it doesn't cost anything.
