There is only one thing to do:

Contact the seller and let him see the problem. If he is a pro, he will let the warranty take care of the costs. And he will contact Willson about the problem.

I am most surprised, that this sort of problem surfaces 20 or 30 years after Yamaha having had the same problems with all of their bottom sprung piston instruments.

Most warranty schemes allow the dealership to attempt repair before replacement. However: if the rust has induced increased metallurgical activities in the piston area and the solder seams around it. And/or if the rust has caused extraordinary wear in the pistons. Then I would insist on having a fully new instrument. To be chosen under the same circumstances as with the original purchase. That is: same number of specimens to choose among, and sufficient with time for a thorough comparative test.
