Nice try Industrial Man, but not only could it cause permanent damage to this guys lips, but it could also permanently stick his mouthpiece in the leadpipe.
My suggestion is a thin coat of latex. (Make sure it dries thoroughly.) This won't stick, but will definitely keep you from slipping off your mouthpiece, especially during the Star Spangled Banner.
