I was glad to see someone else remember George Black. He was a wonderful gentleman.

I had a high school band director Jack Potter who was a tremendous influence. His son, Wiz, played in the Marine Band and I got to use his Mirafone while in HS.

The person that made the biggest influence in my playing was Dennis Miller (now in Montreal), while he was in the Vancouver Symphony. I would go up on Saturday and spend many hours playing and working with him. He made it possible for me to go to Chicago and study with Arnold Jacobs.
