A rotary horn doesn't have the same valve breaking in process as you would have with a piston horn. The main thing is to keep is properly oiled. If you don't have one, get yourself a needle oiler with rotary valve oil. Put one drop of oil on each of the linkage points and on the top of the valve where the shaft enters the casing. Also open the back of the valve casing and put one drop of oil on the bearing shaft. This should be done at least weekly. It was also suggested to me to put a few drops of regular, light weight, valve oil down the leadpipe each time I play and work it through the valves by moving them in sequence.

Good luck with your new horn, enjoy it.
