That is interesting, because a few months ago when I was at Dillon's I played a few F tubas including a MW45 (rotary). The notes in question felt a little off at first and I didn't care for the immediate feel, but Matt Walters said that they sound much better than they probably feel. It seems true to me, but sometimes some players do let the weakness of these notes show. Very interesting to hear some of the same ideas from the other coast!
