Just be sure that when putting it down on the bell, you remove the mouthpiece first. Once I left my tuba sitting on its bell with the mouthpiece in, and some friends of mine were horsing around and knocked it over. It landed more or less mouthpiece first, and this caused the leadpipe to get riduculously bent. Luckily, a repairman was able to unbend the leadpipe and it plays perfectly fine now, but I was lucky to have it recover like that. So in conclusion, always remove the mouthpiece when setting it down, and furthermore if you see any of your friends horsing around near your tuba, immediately put them in the WWF submission hold of your choice. I recommend the Ankle Lock, a la Kurt Angle. The Walls of Jericho is also good.
