As one who has lost 45 pounds and kept it off for 3+ years (thanks, Uncle Sam for the weight-loss program!) I can say that my improved self image has helped my tuba playing more than a smaller waistline. Fitness and good health improve your outlook on life, your relationship with others, your state of mind, energy levels, love life, life expectancy, the list goes on and on, all of which are infinitely more important in the grand scheme of things than honking on a piece of overpriced metal.

Drop that weight and see how you feel. If being fit and healthy just doesn't feel right to you, "supersize it", "go large", "biggie size it" and you'll be back in "form" before you know it!
