The Nirscl I played was the one Floyd was sending around. While it was better than my then-current Yorkbrunner, it is not as open and free-blowing as my now-current Yorkbrunner., which has GREAT low notes. I have played TWO 2165's. BOTH of them seemed 'dead' to me. Granted, both had the 'tone ring' soldered inside the bell, which prevented the ball from vibrating, but i was dissapointed with the lack of 'life' the instrument had. PLUS, both samples I had did NOT have a good, freeblowing low register. I'm in the business of selling tubas, so my opinion may SEEM tainted, but this Gronitz PCK is the greatest thing since sliced bread, especially at $6,000.
