I tried three different 2001 CC's, and they were all very good. The only horn I have truly liked better is a PT-6. They are very versitile for a large 5/4 horn, and I would not hesitate to use it in just about any situation. They have a very warm, lively sound, and slot very well. Intonation is spot on, and the horn is very easy to hold for its size. The only drawback is the questionable reputation that Kalison has had over the years. But if the three I tried are any indication, Kalison has greatly improved their quality-control standards.
If I had $8500, it would get a VERY serious look.
