I have a pt-5, my suggestion is learn to use a lot more air, use a tuner 4 hours a day, buzz with the tuner and use a lot of alternative fingerings. It took me a long time to realize that its not the horn, it was me. The horn does have it's qwirks no doubt about it. I would have a teacher play it and see what the difference is, you'll most likely notice that its not the horn. It is a hard instrument to learn on but its well worth the payoff. Play long tones everyday and move the tuning slides. I still have my problems but for the most part when I really pay attention my intonation on this horn is good. I have played the pt-6 and while the intonation is better on the ones that I have played, the sound sux cause it blows differently, thats just when I play it, I have heard some killers on the 6!!! Good luck and try not to pull your hair out, thats what happened to me.
